About Us
How did we get our name? "Black Water" is a term for coffee and has a fascinating story, deeply rooted in maritime culture, particularly among sailors. On ships, coffee was brewed in large pots, and due to its strong and dark appearance, sailors likened it to the dark, opaque waters they sailed upon. This nautical slang likely originated from the practical necessity of having strong coffee to keep sailors alert during long voyages, and the term stuck as a part of maritime lore and coffee history.
